Sometimes anxiety or shame gets in the way.
And sometimes we simply don’t know what we’re feeling.

The Change Triangle, developed by Hilary Jacobs Hendel, helps us understand how emotions move through three layers:

🔺 Core emotions

When we learn to move through these layers, we can reconnect with what Hendel calls the openhearted state — a place of calm, curiosity, compassion, and clarity.

This is Renata and her retired racing greyhound, Onyx, who ran professionally and won an incredible 15 races in his career. After years of speed, competition, and structured training, Onyx now spends his days enjoying the gentle, quiet life by Renata’s side — full of comfy naps, soft blankets, and endless love.

Renata brings this same mix of calm presence, compassion, and dedication to her clients each day. Highlighting our clinicians reminds us that behind every therapist is a full, rich human story — and for Renata, that story includes a very special four-legged partner. 🐶💛
